Introduction:  Sensor networks offer a powerful combination of distributed sensing, computing and communication, thus the Ubiquitous Sensing Lab Scholarship. Therefore, they lend themselves to numerous applications and, at the same time, pose plentiful challenges primarily due to their peculiarities and the stringent energy constraint and processing capabilities to which sensing nodes are typically subjected.

The era of ubiquitous sensing has also begun thanks to the proliferation of embedded wireless sensors. Ubiquitous Sensing Lab at University of Jinan, , China, is seeking 2-3 highly motivated MS student ASAP with three years' full support of Chinese Government Scholarship.

Value:

(1) a waiver of fee for registration, tuition, and basic textbooks;
(2) free on-campus dormitory accommodation;
(3) monthly living allowance (enough for daily expenditure);
(4) outpatient medical service and Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Protection Scheme for international students in China.

Eligibility:

(1) A citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health;
(2) Not a registered student in Chinese universities at the time of application;
(3) BS or BE holder (under the age of 35) in the field related to Mathematics, Information and Communication Technologies, or Computer Science/Engineering;
(4) Proficient English in reading, writing and speaking;
(5) Excellent academic back ground, preferably GPA 3.5 and above

Signal Scholarships, 2017

Signal Scholarships

Introduction: To help facilitate college path in technology, marketing, and/or entrepreneurship, Signal is pleased to offer two undergraduate students in these fields a Signal Scholarships prize.

Value: The selected winner will receive a one-time $1,500 educational scholarship (runner-up will receive a $500 award) to be applied to qualified expenses, including undergraduate tuition, fees, books and on-campus room and board for the  next academic year.

Eligibility:

• The recipient must be actively enrolled full-time as a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior for the next semester and for the entire academic year without interruption, barring illness, emergency or military service. It is the recipient’s responsibility to verify receipt of funds with their designated institution and notify Signal.
• Applicant must have a cumulative college grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 on a 4-point scale and be enrolled full-time at an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university in the United States for Fall.
• Applicant must use the scholarship toward undergraduate program (i.e. Graduate programs not eligible).
• Applicants must be studying or planning to study the fields of technology, marketing, and/or entrepreneurship.
• If the applicant or the applicant’s parent/legal guardian is employed by Signal at the time of award, the student is not eligible for the scholarship. Eligibility of finalists will be verified before winners are selected.
• To apply for the scholarship, applicant must be a student currently enrolled at a 2-year or 4-year college or university,  recognized by the U.S. Department of Education,  in the United States.

UTS Vice Chancellors Merit Scholarship

Introduction: The University of Technology Sydney is committed to supporting access to quality tertiary education and offers up to five Vice-Chancellor's Merit Scholarships to top high school students annually thus the UTS Vice Chancellors Merit Scholarship. This prestigious scholarship is aimed at students who are experiencing financial disadvantage.

Value: $12,500 per annum.

Eligibility

• Be Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa; and
• Be a current school leaver; or gap year student who received an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) or equivalent score in the previous year, where no university study was undertaken in the gap year; and
• Achieved an ATAR or equivalent of 90.0 or above, excluding bonus points; and
